Vincent Club is established.

1892

The clubhouse is located at 71 Brimmer Street. Its purpose is to raise funds for Memorial Hospital. The organizes does that by producing an annual theatrical production, initially a series of tableaux vivants and later a musical that includes a precision dance routine known as the “Vincent Drill.” Until 1916, the only males allowed to view the show are the firemen, required by city ordinance to be on the premises. After 110 annual performances, the show is replaced as a fund-raising event by a Gardenia Ball in 2003.
